Buzzard eggs, also known as common buzzard eggs, are the eggs laid by the common buzzard, a medium-sized bird of prey found in Europe and Asia. The eggs are laid in spring and are pale blue or white in color, with light brown spots. They are about 6cm in length and 4.5 cm in width. The female buzzard usually lays 2-4 eggs at a time, and both male and female take turns incubating them for about 30-35 days until they hatch. The chicks are covered in white down and are dependent on their parents for food and protection for several weeks until they are able to fly and hunt on their own. Buzzard eggs are not typically consumed by humans due to legal protections for the species, as well as their low nutritional value compared to domestic chicken eggs.
